At the Conrad Hotel & Casino at Punta del Este in Uruguay, Noe “El Carbonero” Gonzalez (26-1, 18 K.O.’s) stopped Mexico’s Gustavo “Cubanito” Magallanes (29-2, 25 K.O.’s) in three rounds to win the WBC silver super middleweight title. The event was put together by Sampson Boxing LLC & Sergio Marquez Productions. Magallanes, who was dropped in the fight, was rocked bad in the third and the ref had to step in. Gonzalez was too strong for his opponent.

Costa Rican Hanna Gabriel made the first defense of the middleweight crown supported by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), by knocking out in the tenth and final round, Melisenda Perez. Thus, Gabriel improved to 11-0-1 with 7 knockouts, while Perez fell to 7-3-1.

In other results on the card, Uruguayan lightweight Cecilia Communal stopped Brazilian Halana Dos Santos in six rounds. It was an entertaining battle with Dos Santos, until in the sixth Communal connected with a powerful right uppercut and proceeded with a powerful right hook to get the knockout. Community improves to 7-1 with 5 knockouts, while Santos fell to 13-4.

For his part, Uruguayan Caril Herrera (27-1, 17 knockouts) won by knockout in six rounds over Miguel Villegas of Argentina to win the vacant bantamweight Latino title of the World Boxing Council (WBC), while middleweight John Jackson (9-0, 8 KOs) grabbed a six-round unanimous decision over Carlos Andres Araya.
