At the Conrad Hotel & Casino at Punta del Este in Uruguay, Noe “El Carbonero” Gonzalez (26-1, 18 K.O.’s) stopped Mexico’s Gustavo “Cubanito” ****llanes (29-2, 25 K.O.’s) in three rounds to win the WBC silver super middleweight title. The event was put together by Sampson Boxing LLC & Sergio Marquez Productions. ****llanes, who was dropped in the fight, was rocked bad in the third and the ref had to step in. Gonzalez was too strong for his opponent.
