Oleg Hermann, manager of IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs), says they are going to pursue the two remaining champions in the middleweight division.

The last two men standing are WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders and WBA 'regular' middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (Golovkin holds the WBA's 'super' title).

Golovkin is first scheduled to make a world title defense against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook on September 10th at the O2 Arena in London. Brook is moving up by thirteen pounds for the fight.

Saunders will return to the ring on September 17th against an opponent to be announced, and Jacobs will have a rematch with Sergio Mora in the coming weeks.

There were some discussions earlier this year for a fight with Saunders, who wanted a lot of money to take the fight and ultimately the negotiations went nowhere. Because of injuries on both sides of the fence, Saunders has not fought since last December's title win over Andy Lee.

Jacobs is technically the mandatory challenger to Golovkin's super title, but the sanctioning body has yet to order the fight.

"After our fight in April [against Dominic Wade], we immediately had long discussions with [Frank] Warren about Saunders. [He wanted] $4 million, this is a large sum for us. We also understand that for them it is a big risk and, because of that they are trying to negotiate the best terms possible," Hermann said.

"But in any case, we will not stop the negotiations [for a fight with Saunders] - we will try to continue them. I hope that in addition to issues of personal gain, our opponents will also want to give the fans the fights they want to see. Gennady is focused on becoming the undisputed middleweight champion - and Saunders and Jacobs are priorities for us, which we will certainly continue to work towards. As for Jacobs, the fight with him is potentially a good one, which could take place in New York at the end of this year or early next. Definitely we will negotiate with them."
