Oleg Hermann, manager of IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs), feels confident that a deal will be reached with WBA mandatory challenger Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29KOs).

Last Saturday night, Golovkin retained his International Boxing Organization, World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation middleweight titles with a fifth round stoppage of brave British challenger Kell Brook at London's O2 Arena on Saturday. His latest victory came after the corner of the previously unbeaten Brook threw in the towel.

Jacobs is the WBA's 'regular' world champion at 160-pounds and retained that title last Friday with a knockout of Sergio Mora. Jacobs wants to fight in December at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn - and he wants Golovkin next.

After Golovkin and Jacobs finished up their fights, the World Boxing Association officially ordered the two of them to fight.

"The 30 day negotiations period has started. They have 120 days to do the fight," stated WBA President Gilberto Mendoza Jr.

If they are unable to reach a deal in 30 days, the fight will head to a purse bid.

Hermann does not believe a purse bid will be necessary. They are having very positive discussions with Jacob's manager/adviser Al Haymon and both sides are looking to avoid a purse bid procedure.

"We are in talks with Jacobs' team. We have a very good understanding with Al Haymon and I think we are going to finalize the deal without a purse bid," Hermann told BoxingScene.com/Allboxing.ru.

Golovkin is under an exclusive deal with HBO. If the two sides reach an agreement, it would be Jacobs' first fight on the network in several years. For some time, Jacobs has been featured exclusively on Showtime and Premier Boxing Champions.

Their fight is nearly a lock to end inside the distance. Jacobs has gone 12-0 with 12 knockouts since losing to Dmitry Pirog in 2010. Golovkin has stopped his last 23 opponents.
