Oleg Hermann, manager of IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs), has come out swinging after Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs) and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy, claimed that dangerous puncher failed to respond to an eight figure fight proposal.

Canelo and De La Hoya made their statement on Saturday night, after the Mexican star captured the WBO junior middleweight world title with a knockout victory over Liam Smith at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Both Canelo and Golovkin are targeting returns in the fall. Golovkin wants the fight sooner than later, but Canelo's handlers are sticking to a date in September of 2017.

According to Hermann, Canelo and De La Hoya are twisting the truth and telling lies to the public.

"It looks like they have a team code to tell lies. Maybe Canelo learned from Oscar De La Hoya. They made a lot of comments and now they just don’t know what to say to the press in order to avoid losing the respect of the boxing fans. But we can see that people don’t take their words seriously. At first he said that he is ready to fight but 'his team is against it.' But now it turns out that we're stalling for time. They confused at their own lies," Hermann told BoxingScene.com/Allboxing.ru.

"We are very surprised by Canelo’s comments. And how we’re supposed to respect him and his team? Canelo says that he is ready. Oscar says that he makes the best fights for boxing and fans. But people know they avoid us. Oscar knows that his Golden Chicken lays golden eggs - but it will be his last when he fights Golovkin. When we start negotiations we're only going to discuss the money spilt. At the end of the day we have the only champion."

"By the way, you can read Kevin Iole’s article on Yahoo. He described Oscar’s way of doing business very precisely. From our side I can say that we will take every step to make this fight, but to all the media and the fans I can say - do not believe people who don’t keep their promises."
