WASHINGTON – Drama dominated the recent buildup toward Gervonta Davis’ fight against Hector Luis Garcia over the past 10 days.

There was none of it at the scale Friday afternoon. Davis and Garcia both came in exactly one pound below the lightweight limit for their 12-round, 135-pound championship match Saturday night at Capital One Arena.

Davis weighed 134 pounds when he stepped on the District of Columbia Combat Sports Commission’s scale at the Marriott Marquis. Garcia also officially weighed 134 pounds.

Baltimore’s Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) will defend his WBA world lightweight title against Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs, 3 NC) in the main event of a four-fight Showtime Pay-Per-View show (9 p.m. ET; $74.99).

The Dominican Republic’s Garcia, 31, moved up from the junior lightweight maximum of 130 pounds to 135 pounds for the opportunity to challenge Davis in by far the biggest fight of Garcia’s career.

The 2016 Olympian defeated Venezuela’s Roger Gutierrez (26-4-1, 20 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in his last fight to win the WBA super featherweight title August 20 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Caesars Sportsbook listed Davis as a 14-1 favorite over Garcia on Friday afternoon. If Davis defeats Garcia, he is expected to face rival Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) next in what would be one of the highest-profile fights that can be made in boxing.

The official weights for the Davis-Garcia undercard bouts are listed below.
