WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell out-speeded and out-foxed the determined mandatory challenger King Tug Nyambayar, who did better in the second half but still couldn't make up for the early deficit.

Russell won with activity (72.3 punches per round to Nyambayar's 58.9), power punch accuracy (26%-21%) and a very busy (39 per round) but inaccurate (6%) jab that still kept the Mongolian at long range.

Russell led 134-122 overall, 30-21 jabs and 104-101 power while also prevailing 8-4 in the CompuBox round-by-round breakdown of total connects, which mirrored the margins on the official scorecards (118-110, 117-111, 116-112).
