According to danish daily ekstrabladet, a rematch between England's IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch and Denmark's "regular" WBA champion Mikkel Kessler is very close and a contract appears ready to be signed in a few days.

"It's a simple deal we are trying to make. It can be finished within 5 minutes", Froch's promotor Eddie Hearn stated. "We will have a deal before Christmas surely."

Kessler's promotor Kalle Sauerland agrees: "Hearn and Froch wants to set up the fight. The same goes for Mikkel and myself."

Financially the two should be in agreement as well.

"Mikkel has the WBA belt. Carl has the IBF strap. They will fight for the two belts and logic says that we will split the pot in two," Hearn says.

According to Ekstrabladet, Kessler and Froch are to receive $2 million dollars each.

Not much separates the two sides. There is an agreement that the fight will take place in England. Hearn wants the fight in Carl's hometown of Nottingham, while Sauerland wants the fight in London or Manchester where there is easier access from Danish airports as thousands of Danish Kessler fans are expected.

The two sides is expected to continue talks this week. Eddie Hearn says:

"To us it is not paramount, whether the fight is staged in April, May or June. You can say that that if it's in April or May it has to be in the O2 in Manchester or London. In June it can be outdoors in Nottingham."
