Brooklyn, New York - The resurgence of the heavyweight division after last year's shocking upset of Wladimir Klitschko has had its ripple effect. Anyone and everyone feels like their chances of becoming a heavyweight champion or landing a big heavyweight fight have immensely increased.

One guy that feels his time is coming soon is former heavyweight title contender Eddie Chambers (43-4, 23KOs). But instead of calling someone out, Chambers says he’s going to sit tight because he believes a good opportunity will arrive in the near future

"I want to be in there as soon as possible in 2016, hopefully with a new guy, not a fight for me to stay busy and keep me fresh,” Chambers told BoxingScene.com.

"Right now they are going to say it’s easy to yell from my position and bark but I’m going to be quiet and be humble and continue to work hard and be ready when it’s my turn.”

Chambers was in camp with Tyson Fury and helped him prepare for last November's upset win over Klitrschko to capture the WBO/IBO/IBF/WBA heavyweight titles. In fact, Chambers has assisted Fury in camp for his last couple of fights.

While many insiders felt that Fury had no chance against Klitschko, Chambers knew the fight would play out like it did.

“It went exactly how I thought,” Chambers said. “It was a little nip and tuck at the end and he got caught up in some exchanges but he boxed well and it went like we all thought it would.”

With Fury being the king of the current crop of heavyweights, Chambers feels the division is in good hands.

“I think the division is in good hands,” Chambers said of his friend and stablemate. “I think there’s a lot of talented guys out there. The belts are starting to become separated so that means we are going to see a lot of mix and matching and a lot of good fights soon.”
