At the recent Jermain Taylor-Kelly Pavlik event in Atlantic City, promoter Lou DiBella spoke with Bob Arum of Top Rank about matching junior middleweights Ronald Hearns (16-0, 13KOs) and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (33-0-1, 26KOs) in a battle of unbeaten prospects.

DiBella would like the fight to happen within the next six months.

Hearns appeared on the Taylor-Pavlik undercard, scoring an impressive first round stoppage of Robert Kamya. Chavez returns to the ring on a Dec. 1 Top Rank pay-per-view, facing Ray Sanchez (20-1, 15KOs).

If the fight comes off, Chavez who at 6'0 is usually the bigger man in the ring, would be up against an even bigger man in the 6'3 Hearns.

Family bragging rights would also be on the line, as being the sons of famous fathers (Julio Cesar Chavez and Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns) will certainly become the overhead storyline.
