There was a lot of talk throughout the summer of a November showdown between Nonito Donaire and Scott Quigg( who holds a version of the WBA 122-pound title) but alas, it seems as though this fight will not happen.

Cameron Dunkin, who manages Donaire told Boxingscene.com - "I'm looking around and telling everyone I can, asking Top Rank to find something else. I don't want him to not fight the rest of this year. He's on a roll and I want to keep it."

Dunkin explained that for the past week or so he kept waiting for a phone call from Top Rank confirming that this fight was on - except he never received it.

The plan was to stage this fight on November 21st in either Dubai or in England.

According to Donaire's promoter Bob Arum, the head of Top Rank - "Quigg is giving (Eddie) Hearn trouble, wants too much money. Doesn't really want to fight Donaire. So unless I can sell that to Dubai, financed by Philippine television - because they have the outlets in the Mid East - I don't think that fight can go on because that's the only way. I mean, Quigg is not that big of a draw in England and that fight would have to be in Manchester, anyways."
