Legendary promoter Lou DiBella is in the process of promoting his own massive heavyweight bout between WBC kingpin Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) and Luis Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) on March 3rd at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY. Showtime will televise this championship bout.

Recently, the rematch between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin was announced to take place on May 5th.

DiBella weighed in on the announcement of highly anticipated middleweight mega fight on a recent episode of ATG Radio.

“We’ll see what happens here. To be honest with you, Gennady’s not getting any younger. So I have a hard time believing that Gennady is going to get any better. But if he did the same thing he did the last fight, I think he wins again and probably gets the decision this time. Dibella told ATG Radio

The first fight between Alvarez and Golovkin took place last fall, ending in a highly disputed spilt-draw.

Most ringside and television observers thought Golovkin won a comfortable decision and blamed bad judging for the result. Mainly being Las Vegas judge Adalaide Byrd’s card of 118-110 in favor of Canelo was highly criticized culprit.

Dibella himself was not a fan of the judges decision on that September evening.

“It would be interesting to see a hundred people watch a fight and just tell you after the fight which guy won. I’ll tell you it would be a better gage than most judges decisions.

“But there are some really good judges. The problem is some really bad judges can counteract. I’ve seen some really bad decisions in recent years.

“I’m happy the rematch is happening. Not so much for the controversial ending at all. Just because it was a good fight the first time and I don’t mind seeing it again. So it’s a good thing for boxing that the fight is made.
