Dave Allen has warned Christopher Lovejoy that he’ll be causing the American some major problems when they meet at Wembley Arena on Saturday.

Allen (18-5-2, 15 KOs) faces Lovejoy (19-0, 19 KOs) on the undercard of the heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora, which is live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN.

Ahead of the showdown with Lovejoy, Allen has been having some great sparring with Usyk, and he feels that experience has put him in a great place for this weekend’s fight.

Allen said: “Lovejoy is a big man who has had 19 fights and knocked them all out. You can look at the competition and say it’s not great, but he’s done what he needed to do.

“I feel his lack of amateur experience and the fact he’s had only 21 rounds as a professional will cause him major problems. Nobody gets rid of me in a few rounds. I’m known for my durability, so he’s in big trouble.

“I’m in great shape. It’s not going to be much different to what you usually see from me, but I’m just a bit faster, hitting a bit harder, and doing things a bit quicker and better. I’m really excited by it. It’s the right opponent for me and I’m going to look really good.

“I’ve had some great sparring with Usyk, and I went there with the intention to learn. I was trying to copy him, so everything he did I tried to do. I’m not saying it came off, but it’s helped me a lot.”

Elsewhere on Saturday’s card, Savannah Marshall goes up against Hannah Rankin for the vacant WBO middleweight title.
