Damien Vazquez (17-3-1) made it two wins in a row when he stopped Jeronil Borres (12-9-2) in 6 rounds last Saturday night at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The fight took place on the Showtime televised Emmanuel Rodriguez-Melvin Lopez undercard.

The 26-year-old southpaw fights under the Premier Boxing Champions banner and trains out of the Silver State Boxing Gym in Las Vegas. He has now picked up two stoppage victories in the past 5 months and believes his activity level has been a key to his success.

“I got in the ring and did what I needed to do   I am looking to fight again sometime in the fall. I feel really sharp right now, and I feel very strong,” Vazquez told BoxingScene.com.

He believes that he has now grown into his man strength and can compete at a high-level in either the bantamweight or super bantamweight division. Vazquez has bounce back-and-forth between both divisions over his last several fights.

“I am 26-years-old now. I feel really good and really strong.  I am just going to see where the best opportunities happen whether it’s at 118 or 122, I know I can compete with the top guys either division,” Vazquez explained.

“Hopefully I can get a title eliminator fight in either division and fight for a title right after.  I am going to surprise a lot of people. I am super motivated. Just wait until you see me in the ring again.”
