Tony Conquest has pulled out of his next fight, just days before it was set to take place.

The London cruiserweight had been set to take on Craig Kennedy (13-0, 7 KOs) later this week in an eliminator for the British title, exclusively live on Eurosport.

Conquest (16-2, 5 KOs) has cited an injury, which was picked up in training, as the reason behind his withdrawal from the clash that was scheduled for March 11 at the Newport Centre.

A family bereavement ruled Conquest out of the first slated clash against Welshman Kennedy on February 6 at the same venue and Sanigar Events, the promotional team behind the show, agreed to push the whole card back in order for the top-of-the-bill fight to take place.

But now that the Romford man has pulled out for a second time, a replacement opponent has been drafted in.

Kennedy, who last boxed in Bristol in November, live on Channel 5, will now take on Lukasz Rusiewicz (21-22, 12 KOs) of Poland over 10 rounds in a stay-busy fight.

Rusiewicz, who has shared the ring with a number of the world’s best cruiserweights including former world champion Herbie Hide, Ola Afolabi and current WBO Champion Krzysztof Glowacki, was in training for a scheduled 10-rounder in Germany and is coming into the fight following a one-round knockout victory.

Elsewhere, Welsh Area super welterweight champion Barrie Jones (22-10, 9 KOs) has withdrawn from his title defence against Bradley Pryce (36-20, 19 KOs), who will now face Simone Lucas (8-27-5, 1 KO) over six rounds.

And there is action for undefeated flyweight Andrew Selby (3-0, 2 KOs), who takes on Brett Fidoe (6-22-2, 5 KOs), and duo Jermaine Asare (3-0) and Nathan Thorley (3-0, 2 KOs).

Meanwhile, Ashley Brace (2-0) features and Swansea welterweight Sonny Lee makes his bow in the paid code.
