Calgary, AB - Teofista Boxing is proud to announce its first promotion of 2011 which will see two of the fastest rising stars in Canadian boxing showcased in an exciting night of boxing live from the beautiful Chinese Cultural Centre in Calgary, Canada on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011.

Steve Claggett (10-0-1, 7 KOs) will face off against unbeaten Mexican Jose Mendoza (7-0, 3 KOs) for the prestigious WBC light welterweight Youth Intercontinental Title in the headlining bout.

In the co-main event big punching Canadian middleweight champion Adam 'A-Bomb' Trupish (7-0, 4 KOs) will return to action in a 160-pound bout against Montana's Matt Palmer (2-2, 0 KOs).

The card will also feature two clubbing heavyweight tilts with Sheldon 'Prime Time' Hinton (11-6-1, 4 KOs) taking on Ken Frank (3-1-1, 2 KOs) in a Canadian heavyweight title eliminator, and heavy handed Jarred KilKenny (2-0, 1 KO) facing off against Winnipeg's Chad Thrun (0-2).

Rounding out the card will be former Alberta amateur standout Brad Soanes making his pro debut against game fellow newcomer Max Gagne.

The evening will kickoff with an exciting showcase of amateur boxing to warm up the local fans in attendance which will be highlighted by 2010 Alberta Provincial Champions Norman Bradford and Devin Reti facing off in an attractive matchup.

The pro bouts will be sanctioned by the Calgary Combative Sports Commission with Alberta Boxing sanctioning the preliminary amateur bouts. 

The exciting evening of sports entertainment will include live music and dancing and will take place in down town Calgary at the Chinese Cultural Centre, located at 197 1st Street SW with ample parking available.
