O2 Arena, London - Chris Eubank Jr. (20-1-0, 15 KOs) set up a shot at WBA middleweight champion Danny Jacobs after Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan (22-1-0, 15KOs) was pulled out by his corner in round seven of a thrilling contest.

In a frenetic start to the fight, Eubank Jr. stunned ‘Spike’ with two pinpoint uppercuts through the guard that forced the Irishman to cover up, but O’Sullivan was bravely able to weather the storm.

Despite the trademark showboating from the Brighton-based boxer, ‘Spike’ was able to land a clean right hand that had blood pouring from Eubank Jr.’s nose in round three.

It served as a wake-up call to Eubank Jr., who went back to his boxing and was again able to get success with a ripping uppercut followed up with well-timed body work.

The 26-year-old again dazed his Irish opponent with a flurry that forced ‘Spike’ onto the ropes in round six before the Cork-based fighter’s corner withdrew their man who was behind on the cards, much to the displeasure of the crowd.
