The bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Panamanian Anselmo 'Chemito' Moreno (32-1-1, 11KOs) began training for his tenth defense, scheduled for April 21 in Mexico against David De La Mora (24-1, 17KOs). Chemito's trainer, Celso Chavez, said the fighter came to the gym weighing 140-pounds and began to do several exercises and weights.

Moreno has no problem with fighting De La Mora in his backyard. In the next two weeks, he plans to start working out the details of his strategy for De La Mora.

'I enjoyed the holidays and the carnival, which I really enjoyed a lot. Now I have to enjoy the hard work that is waiting for me in the gym. I am coming [to train] with all of the hungry [of a fighter looking] to become champion - as if I'm not [the champion in this fight]. At this moment, in my mind, David De La Mora is the champion. I'm ready for him, plus I plan to fight like I'm the challenger," said Moreno.
