Former WBC middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr. has closed the strong stage of his preparation and he's reportedly in optimal conditions to get into the ring in search of achieving that victory that puts him back on the road to contend for a world championship.

Chávez Jr (50-3-1, 32 KO's) will face Colombian Evert Bravo (25-10-1, 19 KO's) over ten rounds, headlining an event presented by Zanfer Promotions on Saturday at the stadium "Antonio R. Márquez" from San Juan de los Lagos, and that card will be broadcast by Azteca 7.

The son of the legend closed his preparation with his team headed by the experienced coach, Romulo Quirarte.

The bout with Bravo will take place at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds, which is where Chavez Jr. wants to capture some gold.

"We are going to offer a great fight. The problems have been left behind, we have worked very hard so from this fight we can win back the confidence of my promoters - and based on the work and results, aspire to secure a new opportunity to be the champion of the world," said Julio César, who was the first Mexican in history to claim world middleweight champion.

Chavez Jr. has been out of the ring since May of 2017, when he lost a twelve round unanimous decision to countryman Canelo Alvarez at the catch-weight of 164.5-pounds..

Julio César Chávez Sr. has been in Jalisco for days. He's accompanied his son for his comeback bout. And the man most regard as the greatest fighter in Mexican boxing history, believes his son is physically ready and more importantly, mentally ready, to make a statement before a pack crowd.
