After suffering his latest setback, former champion Celestino 'Pelenchín' Caballero (36-5, 23 KOs) of Panama is hoping to close the year with a win against Colombia's Jonathan 'Popeye' Perez (31-9, 25 KOs), as they battle for the Latino featherweight (126 pounds) championship of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

Panamanian promoter Rogelio Espiño explained that he added Caballero-Perez as the co-featured attraction to the headliner of  Vicente "El Loco" Mosquera (33-2-1, 18 KOs) vs. Gilberto 'El Flaco "Gonzalez (22-3, 18 KOs), who battle for the silver lightweight (135 lbs) title of the WBC on November 30th at Arena Panama Al Brown in Colon City.

Caballero has not fought in his native province for eleven years or September 21, 2002, when he scored a third round stoppage over Darien Angel 'El Diablo' Valencia.
