Guadalajara's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KOs) feels ready for whatever Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12 KOs), the WBA's 'regular' champion at 154, brings to the table at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. It will be Canelo's second fight this year after a TKO victory in March over Alfredo Angulo.

There could be early fireworks in the contest. After Lara indicated that he might start fast to control the fight early, and Canelo is prepared to meet him head on.

"Lara's quality is clear and I look forward to whatever he brings in the early rounds. The only thing I'm thinking about is to win by any means possible. I can't predict that I'll win by knockout, but I'll be ready for anything. With lefties I've never had had any problems, I adapt well to their style. We worked properly during preparation, so we are coming in there in excellent physical condition," Canelo said.

"Surely Lara is one of the best fighters out there right now and the winner will be the best in the world at 154 pounds."
