Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez believes his stablemate, Cuban boxer Frank Sanchez, will became a world champion in the heavyweight division and is capable of beating everyone in the weight class.

Both boxers are trained by Eddy Reynoso and work alongside each other in the gym.

Canelo was ringside on Saturday night, to supported Sanchez as he easily outboxed late replacement Christian Hammer over ten rounds in Hollywood, Florida.

“He will be world champion, he will sweep everyone in the heavyweight division, because he is a special talent," Canelo said to George Ebro.

The fight with Hammer came about on a few days' notice after original opponent Carlos Negron tested positive for COVID-19.

Despite falling short of securing a stoppage win, Reynoso was very happy with his boxer's performance.

"This is another step in Frank's promotion, and we are sure that 2022 will bring him great things," Reynoso said.

Last Saturday's fight was the first for Sanchez since his impressive decision win over dangerous puncher Efe Ajagba, which was featured on the pay-per-view undercard of the Tyson-Fury-Deontay Wilder trilogy in October of 2021.

Sanchez is banking on going for a world title at some point in the new year.

"I was very motivated by seeing Canelo supporting me at ringside. This must be a definitive year for my aspirations to become a world champion," said Sanchez. "This was a tough opponent, but my dominance of the ring and my skills were too much for him and they will be for anyone who stands in my way."
