IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute, responding to some recent criticism, said that it's not his fault that unifications within his division fall through. Bute's promoters, InterBox, have tried to negotiate deals with the other champions but there are several issues that prevent those deals from happening. InterBox was recently unable to secure Mikkel Kessler and Kelly Pavlik for Bute. An opponent was eventually secured, with Bute facing former champion Glen Johnson on November 5th at a soon to be determined venue in Canada.

"All of the time we are making efforts to [stage the unifications], but it is not as simple as it seems. I would like to be in possession of all the title belts. Boxing is a sport for the boxers, but for the managers it is a business. Who you fight depends on the sponsors, the television networks and many other factors," Bute said.
