New York - Leonard Bundu (33-1-2, 12 KO’s) comes into his showdown with Errol Spence Jr.(20-0, 17 KO’s) this Saturday in Coney Island as a heavy underdog.

The 41 year old is not supposed to win, according to experts, but he still has something to fight for. This may be his last big shot at a world title as the winner finds themselves in the mandatory position for Kell Brook’s IBF Welterweight World Title.

He knows what the odds are and knows the pressure is on for Spence Jr. to impress.

"I fought Keith Thurman and I went the distance with him,” Bundu told BoxingScene.com. “I know Spence wants to make a statement and I think he’s going to try and knock me out. I think we can use that against him. We expect him to be aggressive and leave himself open in situations.”

The last time Spence was in Brooklyn, he stopped Chris Algieri, a fighter who has gone the distance with the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Ruslan Provodnikov. So Bundu knows what he’s up against and feels his experience will keep him in the fight.

“Yes, he’s dangerous but I think my experience will keep me in the fight and when it gets deeper in the fight. I believe I can take advantage,” explained Bundu.

Though the chatter in the boxing industry is that Brook, the incumbent champion of the IBF will not return to 147 after his showdown with middleweight Gennady Golovkin next month. Bundu hopes Brook returns to the weight, so he can travel to England to fight Brook.

“I’m not sure if he comes back to 147 but I’m 2-0 in England and I would love to make it 3-0 in England to win a world title.”
