Adrien Broner knows how to wind up with a cool $100 million payday—he just can’t figure out why Floyd Mayweather Jr. won’t oblige him.

The popular, brash boxer from Cincinnati recently said in an interview with Cigar Talk that he and Mayweather could make “nine figures” fighting each other in a 10-round exhibition bout. Broner, who has had something of an on-and-off, sibling relationship over the years with the Hall of Fame boxer, expressed confusion as to why Mayweather has not reached out to him already about such a lucrative endeavor.

“Me as a real n----, me, if I was Floyd and he was me, he wouldn’t ever have to fight again because – that exhibition sh!t, as me being his little brother, hey lil bro, we finna do 10 rounds and we both gonna get a $100 plus for it and we ain’t never got to box again,” Broner said. “Well, well, well, I’ve already been getting these bags, but it’s time for you to get your just due. And you ain’t ever have to box again. That would’ve been done. That would’ve been done.

“But I don’t know if he wants to see me with that type of money.”

Asked to elaborate on the last point, Broner, 33, claimed ignorance, saying he does not know what Mayweather’s “feelings” are toward a fight.

“I can’t tell you why…I don’t know I’m just sayin’, why ain’t it happen?” Broner said. “It’s so easy. This is so easy. This is a layup. This is gonna be the most money you’ve ever made in your career. I don’t care if it’s a real fight or if it’s an exhibition.

“We can do an exhibition, 10 rounds, and the whole world is gonna watch it," Broner said. "And we’re gonna go in there and go to work and hug and go in the back and get a bag. But at the end of the day, I don’t know what’s his feelings. I don’t know how he feelin’.”

Mayweather has been somewhat busy on the exhibition circuit since his last professional bout in 2017 against Conor McGregor. Most recently Mayweather fought his former sparring partner, Don Moore, in an exhibition in Abu Dhabi. Last year, Mayweather fought in an exhibition with YouTuber Logan Paul.

The spate of exhibition fights—and attendant lucrative paydays—has had Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs) scratching his head, wondering why he has not already been involved in one with Mayweather. Broner went so far as to say that he would “cancel” his scheduled fight with Omar Figueroa Jr. on Aug. 20 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

“At the end of the day why not get in there and make nine figures apiece?” Broner said. “They keep doing all this —and I love Jake Paul, I love Logan Paul, I love what they doing for the sport—all I’m saying is that I got a fight in three weeks.

“If Floyd call me and said we’re gonna do an exhibition, I will stop that fight. I will stop that fight and we’ll be doing that fight in September, because that will be on pay-per-view.”
