Brandun Lee is confident that Juan Heraldez will meet the same fate as 21 of his first 23 professional opponents.

Heraldez has lost only to Regis Prograis and is a skillful boxer, but the unbeaten Lee promised another knockout Saturday night in the opener of Showtime’s live tripleheader from Carson, California. Their 10-round, 142-pound bout will air after Showtime replays the 12-round Gervonta Davis-Isaac Cruz lightweight title fight at 10 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT.

“I’m excited to go in there and showcase my skills and show the world what I can do,” Lee told BoxingScene.com. “I think [a knockout] would open a lot of people’s eyes because my last two opponents – Samuel Teah beat Kenneth Sims by applying a lot of pressure. And my last opponent, he was from Argentina [Ezequiel Fernandez], and he was a pressure type of fighter. So now, you know, we’re dealing with a boxer. It don’t matter who’s in front of me, the same result is gonna happen. … Today I’m 23-0. Come Saturday night, I’ll be 24-0.”

The 22-year-old Lee has impressed with his power mostly in a series of fights that have been televised as part of Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” series. The La Quinta, California, native hopes that 2022 is the year that he builds toward a 140-pound title shot, but first he’ll have to get past a fighter Floyd Mayweather’s company promotes.

Prograis blew out Heraldez (16-1-1, 10 KOs) in the North Las Vegas, Nevada, native’s most recent fight, a third-round, technical-knockout loss in October 2020 at Alamodome in San Antonio. Lee has boxed three times since Heraldez last entered the ring.

The heavy-handed Lee expects to have to go find Heraldez once the bell rings Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.

“The one thing that probably makes him the most challenging for most fighters is that he’s a very safe fighter,” Lee said. “With that being said, he does a lot of head movement. He does little feints, pops his jab out and tries to catch you off guard. So, he’s a decently smart fighter.”

Lee-Heraldez will immediately precede a 10-round welterweight bout between Uzbekistan’s Kudratillo Abdukakhorov (18-0, 10 KOs) and Canada’s Cody Crowley (19-0, 9 KOs). Nonito Donaire (41-6, 27 KOs) will make a mandated defense of his WBC bantamweight title against fellow Filipino Reymart Gaballo (24-0, 20 KOs) in the 12-round main event.
