On February 25, live on HBO pay-per-view, two of the most well known fighters in the sport will battle for supremacy. Fernando Vargas and Shane Mosley, two former junior middleweight champions, two men destined for the hall of fame - only one will move forward to regain his stature in the sport.

BoxingScene’s Jose Aguirre caught up with triple division champion Shane Mosley, to discuss his upcoming mega-bout with Fernando Vargas, moving back up to 154 pounds and his future.

BoxingScene.com: Shane, how are you feeling today my friend?

Shane Mosley: I'm feeling real good, great.

BoxingScene.com: Talk to us about your fight on February 25th against Fernando Vargas.

Shane Mosley: I'm very happy that I'm getting this fight with Fernando Vargas. I think it's going to be a great fight, a legendary fight. Looking back at the history books - you have Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran. These guys fought each other. I think that in our era, we're like that. We're like the Sugar Ray Leonards of that era. I'm very excited and happy for this fight at 154 pounds.

But, ike I've said, I will go back to 147 pounds. My home is at 147.

BoxingScene.com: Do you think that going from 147 to 154 and back down, will have any effect on your body?

Shane Mosley: No, I think it's the preparation in the way I train. Before I was trained to be 154 pounder so I was bulking up a little bit. This time I won't be training to be a 154 pounder, I'll be training to be the best fighter that I can be that night.

BoxingScene.com: Is it safe to say that after this fight, you will not be looking for a big fight at 154, but at 147.

Shane Mosley: Definitely. I will definitely be looking for a big fight at 147, not 154. This is just a fight for this time. My home will be at 147.

BoxingScene.com: Being that you have made that decision to go back to 147. What weight will you be coming in for the Fernando Vargas fight?

Shane Mosley: I'll probably come in about 150, maybe 149. I don't know.

BoxingScene.com: At 147, you have the undisputed champion Zab Judah and Floyd Mayweather, a fighter that moved up from 140 to 147 pounds. What are your thoughts on these fighters and fights with both of them?

Shane Mosley: Both of those fighters are great fighters, good fighters. I'll definitely fight both of them, the winner of Floyd and Zab or go straight to Floyd Mayweather. It doesn't matter. My home will be 147 and I will conquer that division.

BoxingScene.com: At a recent press conference, Yoel Judah, the father and trainer of Zab Judah, said that you will go to sleep if you step in the ring with his son. What are your thoughts on that?

Shane Mosley: Everyone has their own opinions and feelings on how they feel, but that will have to be seen. I do my talking with my fists and my actions do speak louder than words.

BoxingScene.com: Based on his last two fights, there are some that feel Fernando Vargas is not the same fighter. What are your thoughts on Fernando as a fighter?

Shane Mosley: Well you never know. He has a lot of tricks, he's an old veteran. He's a veteran, he's been in the ring with a lot of topnotch fighters. You never know. They say different things, but when you get in the ring and (what if) that doesn't happen. I don't train as hard because I feel that he is not as good as he used to be, and if I get knocked down or something bad happens in the fight - that's going to be my problem.

I don't worry about what they say about Fernando. I'm going to do my best, and prepare my best for each and every fight.

BoxingScene.com: They say that a fighter usually fights to the level of his competition. In your last two fights they weren't against big names. What can we expect from Shane Mosley on February 25th against Fernando Vargas?

Shane Mosley: Well, you can expect big things. Fernando is going to come out and be a fighting warrior and I'm going to come out and do what I do best. I think it's going to be an exciting fight. Fernando is the type that likes to fight, there will be no fancy footwork or holding and clinching - it's about fighting. If people want to see a good fight, watch on February 25th and see a good fight.

BoxingScene.com: Shane, is there anything to you would like to say in closing?

Shane Mosley: Just stayed tuned on February 25th and watch a great night of boxing. A great night of fighting with me and Fernando on February 25th, on HBO pay-per-view.
