Serhii Bohachuk and Sebastian Fundora is a fan-friendly fight. At stake is an interim world title fight, which could make the fight more compelling.

Bohachuk and Fundora will square off in a 12-round bout, with March as the scheduled date, Tom Loeffler confirmed to BoxingScene Friday afternoon.

Loeffler promotes Bohachuk.

“This is a great fight between Bohachuk and Fundora,” Loeffler told BoxingScene. “It’s going to be a sure-fire, fan-friendly fight because both are very aggressive and are big punchers.”

A lot will be on the line between the once-beaten fighters. At stake is the interim WBC world junior middleweight title.

Both fighters are ranked in the top-5 by WBC. Fundora and Bohachuk are ranked No. 2 and 3, respectively.

Bohachuk (23-1, 23 knockouts), who is originally from Vinitza, Ukraine and now lives and trains in Los Angeles, last fought on July 22, stopping Ghana’s Patrick Allotey in the opening round. In his previous fight on January 27 of last year, Bohachuk knocked out former fringe contender Nathaniel Gallimore in the sixth round.

The 28-year-old has won his last five bouts since losing by knockout to Brandon Adams in March 2021. Bohachuk was up 68-64, 68-64, and 69-63 at the time of the stoppage.

Fundora also suffered his only defeat while he was up on the scorecards. In his last bout on April 8, Fundora was knocked out by Brian Mendoza in the seventh round. Fundora was up on all judges’ scorecards (60-54, 60-54, and 59-55) when the fight was stopped.

The 26-year-old Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs), who resides in Coachella, California, defeated Carlos Ocampo by unanimous decision in his previous fight in October 2022. The 6’6” has victories over Erickson Lubin, Sergio Garcia, Jorge Cota, Habib Ahmed, and Gallimore.

Loeffler stated all the official particulars on the fight will be officially announced.

“(An) exact date and location will be announced soon,” stated Loeffler.
