Fresh off his latest venture into Macao, promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is now looking to finalize a fight card in Dubai, which for so long has been brandied about as a destination for boxing.

The veteran promoter told BoxingScene.com on Monday morning - "I got a call today from Dubai and they're coming to the States next week to finalize everything."

So could this actually be happening after all these years of press releases that amounted to nothing? Are they actually at the one yard line with the ball ready to be pushed over the goal line?

"Well, I haven't seen the ball yet," Arum answered, chuckling. "So you understand, I'm hearing good stuff but no ticky, no washy."

The date of this card would be November 21st, which may coincide with another fight card.

"Now, it may be that the 'Canelo' (Saul Alvarez) fight (versus Miguel Cotto) goes on that date, which would be fine because then I'd talk with HBO and they would then take the stuff from Dubai and run it that afternoon - with the difference in time - before the (Cotto-Alvarez) telecast goes on and that would make an unbelievable afternoon and evening of boxing."

As for who would appear on this show, Arum stated - "When we find their actual budget and everything, we'll determine determine which fights but the (Nonito) Donaire fight they want with (Scott) Quigg and maybe Gilberto Ramirez with Arthur Abraham. So we'll have to figure that out."
