StubHub Center, Carson, California - Former world champion Antonio DeMarco (33-6-1, 24 KOs) turned back the block by stopping junior welterweight prospect Eddie Ramirez (17-1, 11 KOs) in the first round.

Ramirez put together a string of solid wins in the last two years, with victories over Erick Bone, Ryan Karl, Kevin Watts and Jessie Roman.

DeMarco lost three in a row, to Jessie Vargas, Rances Barthelemy and Omar Figueroa. He stopped his slide in February, with a decision win over Luis Solis.

Ramirez came out swinging, taking the fight to DeMarco in the first round. But DeMarco managed to clip him with a hard hook and had Ramirez's legs all over the place. He tried to fight DeMarco off, but the veteran stayed on him, letting his hands go, and the referee jumped in to wave off the contest.

Also on the card, Hot Lithuanian welterweight prospect Eimantas Stanionionis (4-0, 3 KOs) went the distance for the first time in his career, winning an eight round unanimous decision over Todd Manuel (14-14-1, 3 KOs). The scores were 80-72, 80-72, and 79-73.

In a big upset, Percy Peterson (3-14-3, 1 KO) won a four round unanimous decision over previously undefeated prospect Luis Coria (4-1, 3 KOs). In the first round, Coria was dropped and never fully recovered. He was also rocked in the second round and managed to rally in the fourth, but it was too late. The three judges saw it 38-37.

The cousin of world champion Leo Santa Cruz, Antonio Santa Cruz (6-3, 3KOs) knocked out Jesus Algandar (2-2, 2 KOs) in the third round.

Jerry Perez (4-0, 2 KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Juan Sandoval (7-20-1, 4 KOs). All three judges scored the bout 39-37.

In the first bout of the evening, super bantamweight prospect Jose Vargas (3-0, 2 KOs) put away Jose Perez (1-1, 1 KO) in two rounds. Perez hit the floor in the first round and was unable to deal with the onslaught, as Vargas put him away in the second.
