BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. - Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo (26-7) was has high as a 30-1 underdog for his fight this past Saturday night against Peter Quillin (34-2-1).  The fight headlined a Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 quadrupleheader.

He has now won 2 fights in a row after losing 5 of his previous 7.  He credited the victory to his wife and to world class trainer Abel Sanchez who has been in his corner for his past two fights.

"I feel really good. I am very happy to have the team that I have. Especially the manager I have which is my wife. She did a great job and the work I did with my trainer Abel in camp was great.  I know a lot of people thought that 'El Perro' was finished but the truth is that I am back and I am going to make another run," Angulo told BoxingScene.com after the fight.

The 37-year-old is traditionally a slow starter. He said that while he planned to turn it on in the latter part of the fight that his coach implored him to get off to a quicker start than he normally does.

"That was the plan that Abel had but he said that we have to try to start off faster but yes the plan was to really dominate the second half of the fight which is what I think I did," Angulo stated before being asked about Quillin's power. "He had a respectable punch but thank God he didn't hit me real flush with a shot that could really hurt me."

As for what is next he said that he plans on taking a vacation and that hopes to be back in the biggest fight possible.

"We are going to take a break for a little while and then if we can fight for a title or any big fight that is what we want. That is up to both my manager and my boss Al Haymon," said Angulo.
