Former champion Chris Algieri (20-1, 8KOs) said it was nearly impossible to get anything going in his direction on Saturday night in Macau, when the previously unbeaten boxer suffered a very lopsided loss against WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Algieri was dropped six times during the contest and by the end of the fight he was down 18 points on one card and 16 points on the remaining two.

"Manny had a great game plan. He was very difficult to keep on track. Every time that I felt I had him in one place, he would re-adjust. His ability to adjust and re-adjust throughout the fight was very impressive. He's a great fighter and his experience really showed and it was difficult to get much steam going as he kept re-adjusting," Algieri said.

"Once it was late in the fight, the scores were pretty wide at that point and I was looking for some opportunities to counter on. But Manny was smart in his approach and his attack, he wasn't reckless and he really didn't give me much to take advantage of in those situations."
