Rugged junior middleweight contender Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo, like many, was very impressed with Marcos "El Chino" Maidana's performance against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev.

"I don't know about that.  It was the fight that we all hoped for.  I think that it was just a tough fight for him," Angulo said while answering BoxingScene.com/HustleBoss.com's Chris Robinson's question, "has Floyd Mayweather slowed down?"

"Chino fought a good fight. I think he went in there with an attitude like, 'I don't care who I am in the ring with', and just did his job and took the fight too him. It was a good fight," he continued.

In the fourth round Mayweather suffered a cut above his eye from an accidental headbutt.  Angulo feels that the sight of his own blood may have surprised Mayweather and that it took a little while for him to get used to fighting with the cut.

"Floyd has 18 years as a professional and never had been cut.  I think he was was surprised when he rubbed it with his glove and saw his own blood. It may have taken him a round or two to adjust to it," said Angulo.

On July 12th Canelo Alvarez faces Erislandy Lara in a highly anticipated fight that will be broadcast on Showtime pay-per-view.  Angulo has been in the ring with both fighters and feels that the bout is an even money fight.

"I think it is a good fight.  I think it is an even fight, a 50-50 fight.  Good luck to them both," Angulo told BoxingScene.com.
