CARL FROCH will fail in his bid to reclaim the vacant WBC super-middleweight belt on Saturday, according to the betting on Betfair. Odds of 11-8 suggest the Nottingham-born star’s title hopes will come to an end when he clashes with Arthur Abraham in Helsinki, Finland.

Former IBF middleweight champ Abraham can be backed at 8-11 to win the 168lb title vacated by Mike Kessler earlier this year. The draw trades at 31-1.

Abraham, with just one loss on his record, is a 9-5 shot to triumph by knockout, while the 30-year-old is available at 16-5 to win the bout by the judges’ decision. Froch is a 3-1 chance for victory by decision, while he can be backed at 9-2 to KO his opponent.

Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “Froch’s recent back injury is a massive concern, which could be why the punters are tipping Abraham to win.”
