Lightweight Abner Cotto, cousin of Miguel and Jose Cotto, is ready for the big stage at Yankee Stadium. Abner will appear on the June 5 undercard of Miguel fight with WBA junior middleweight Yuri Foreman. Abner faces Mexican Edgar Portillo (6-4-1,4 KOs) in a bout scheduled for six rounds.

In order to sharpen his preparation for this fight, undefeated Abner joined Miguel's training camp at the Fight Factory Gym in Tampa, Florida.

"I feel very happy and excited to be here with all the equipment. This is a great experience for me. I'm ready to train hard for a big fight on June 5. This year will be a very big for Abner Cotto," said Abner.

In his role as a promoter, Miguel Cotto said: "We decided to bring Abner to give him a chance to work hard in training so he has a great performance on June 5."

During his time in the camp, Abner has had the opportunity to hold sessions with exciting prospects and work with Emanuel Steward. He has also been able to benefit from the recommendations from Miguel's team, which includes the legendary coach (Steward) and the South African strength and conditioning coach Phil Landman.

In this regard, Landman said: "Abner is very talented. We are very excited that he is here and able to work on his fitness. No doubt he has a great future."
