The writing was on the wall, but Mariana "Barby" Juarez's signature was absent from the contract for the much anticipated WBC super flyweight championship clash.

WBC super flyweight champion Zulina Munoz, who attended the WBC weekly press conference, looked a touch pale but remained calm, poised and as usual good humored. Expressing disappointment the bout is now a write off Zulina said:

"I'm really surprised. Mariana talked a lot during a long spell. She expressed confidence in taking my championship away from me. But now that the WBC has named her as mandatory challenger.....what?

"I just don’t understand her attitude. But the most important factor for me is facing the best fighters in the division and to keep Improving. Today I close this chapter.”

Zulina confirmed that she had already signed the contract, but Mariana refused to do it and instead she's announced  a bout against Naoko Fujioka.

"Loba" is now hunting for a high ranked rival, as her promoters will respect the date of March 14th and the venue of  Epazoyucan, Hidalgo.
