Olympic Swimming Facilities, Pantitlan, Distrito Federal - Zulina Muñoz of Mexico beat Uruguayan Gabriela Bouvier by unanimous decision to retain her super flyweight world title fight of the World Boxing Council (WBC) before a packed ballroom.

After ten rounds, the scores were 99-90, 98-91 and 99-91.

From the opening bell, Zulina came out looking for the knockout by connecting with solid combinations. The challenger came back in the next round by responded with hooks to the body of the champion. Bouvier had a great reaction in the third, connecting to the jaw of Munoz.

Munoz regained control in the fourth, and after four rounds the WBC's open scoring was 39-37. She continued to attack the Uruguayan with solids head shots. Munoz landed a huge shots in the sixth that created cries of Mexico !! Mexico ! from the local crowd.

In the seventh roll, Zulina masterfully handled herself with shots to the head and the liver. During the eight, she cracked Bouvier in the eighth with a powerful left hook to the jaw to score a knockdown. After eight rounds, the scores favored the champion by 79-72 on all three scorecards.

In the ninth, Muñoz continued the beating. During the tenth and final, they were battling in a fierce exchange of punches with the crowd cheering until the bell.

With this result, Zulina Muñoz improved to 58-1-2 with 44 knockouts, while Gabriela Bouvier fell to 12-6-1 and 2 before the deadline.
