Rumors are abound that Kilburn’s Ashley Theophane could soon be taking on former World Champion, Zab Judah.

Both camps are currently in talks over the fight, which could take place on November 8th at Madison Square Garden on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe vs. Roy Jones.

Boxing Capital managed to grab a brief chat with Theophane on Saturday who believes that Judah is beatable, having won only 2 of his last 7 contests and appeared to surrender in his last defeat against Joshua Clottey.

Judah (36-6, 25 KO’s) would represent a big step up for Theophane (22-3, 7 KO’s) but it really is a fight that Theophane can win. Remember that Theophane is coming off a career best victory last time out against former WBO Light-Welterweight Champion, DeMarcus Corley.

First Theophane was supposed to fight former World Champion Derek Gainer, who turned the fight down. Then another former World Champion Souleymane M'Baye got injured whilst training. Now Zab "Super" Judah.

So will it actually happen? We’ll leave the answer to Theophane himself, who told Boxing Capital – ‘the only way the fight doesn’t get made is if Square Ring’s (Judah’s Promoter) offer is slave money’. Comments like that make me believe a Theophane win is even more possible – he clearly wants this fight badly. Let’s hope the fight get’s made and Ashley can really upset the applecart in Judah’s hometown of New York.
