Nearly two years after they were scheduled to face each other, which never happened, boxers Yuriorkis Gamboa and Brandon Rios were trading insults on the social networks.

Back in early 2012, Top Rank thought a deal was reached for an HBO televised fight between Rios and Gamboa at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Then Gamboa no-showed the press conferences and claimed a deal was never reached on the money. A legal tussle began between Gamboa and Top Rank. The case finally came to a close when rapper turned promoter 50 Cent paid a large sum to buy out Gamboa's promotional contract with Top Rank. Rios went on to fight Richard Abril and won a very controversial decision.

"I did not run from Rios. I wanted to get paid my fair share and it was denied to me. I can beat Rios with one hand behind my back. That is fact. [Brandon Rios], one day I will have the pleasure to knock you out. Until then say what you please. You are nothing but a stepping stone and you know it," Gamboa wrote.

Rios, never short on words, replied back hard.

"My name came out of your mouth and if I was a stepping stone why did you hide like a bitch...answer me that bitch. Since you don't want to fight Mikey, I'll fight you at 140 but we both know your bitch ass don't want to so [shut the f*** up]."
