I.B.F. Bantamweight champion Yohnny Perez (20-0, 14 KO’s) has signed a managerial contract with well known manager Frank Espinoza this morning in front of officials from the California State Athletic Commission. “I’m proud to be part of the Espinoza Boxing family,” stated Perez, a Colombian fighting out of L.A. “I’m not going to let Frank down. I truly believe he’ll take my career to the next level.”

Espinoza commented on the signing. “Yohnny has demonstrated world class abilities and heart,” he said. “He’s a true warrior in every sense of the word. The future is only going to get better and brighter for Yohnny. I look forward to working with Yohnny, his trainer Danny Zamora and his promoters at Thompson Boxing and Gary Shaw Promotions.”

31 year old Perez recently retained his crown after fighting to a twelve round draw against Abner Mares who is also managed by Espinoza. This will be the sixth world champion under Espinoza’s charge. He also manages the careers of former world champions Israel Vazquez and Martin Castillo along with undefeated prospects Carlos Molina, Luis Ramos, Ronny Rios, Abraham Lopez and Antonio Orozco.
