Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep was never likely to be unduly tested by Ichal Tobida and the Indonesian lasted less than three rounds against the reigning PABA 112 lbs champion in Hat Yai this afternoon.

Yodmongkol started slowly, staying behind the jab in the opening two rounds and easily evading Tobida's telegraphed attack. The Thai did land a solid right uppercut in the second but was taking a very patient approach and looking to ease his way into the fight.

At the start of the third Tobida came out swinging wildly but Yodmongkol soaked it all up and responded with some hard hooks to the body. The Indonesian found himself backed onto the ropes and a straight right hand pierced his guard and sent him stumbling backwards.

Tobida was on wobbly legs but as Yodmongkol backed off expecting the referee to give his opponent a count the Indonesian somehow retained enough balance to avoid allowing a knee or glove to touch the canvass. He was badly hurt and once the champion realized the fight hadn't been halted he wasted no time in moving in for the kill.

When the Indonesian went down for a second time the referee waved it off. Yodmongkol moves up to 40-3 after successfully defending his PABA 112 lbs belt for the second time while Tobida drops to 12-12 and has now lost 10 out of his last 11 fights.

The other boxing match on the card saw Kongfah CP Freshmart (18-1) looking to beat Kongsuk Twingym (0-3) for the second time this year. He did so quit comfortably, scoring a knockdown in the second round and finishing the fight in the fourth.
