If the atmosphere Friday afternoon at The Cutlers’ Hall was an accurate indication, the environment for the Leigh Wood-Josh Warrington fight Saturday night will be incredible inside Utilita Arena Sheffield in Sheffield, England.

Wood and Warrington both stepped on the British Boxing Board of Control’s scale under the featherweight limit of 126 pounds for their 12-round title fight.

Wood weighed 125.7 pounds for this defense of his WBA featherweight title. Warrington was 125.3 pounds.

The British featherweights will go at it inside a packed arena that is located between Wood’s hometown of Nottingham and Warrington’s hometown of Leeds.

The 35-year-old Wood (27-3, 16 KOs) will fight for the third time in eight months and for the first time since he won back his WBA belt from Mexican contender Mauricio Lara (26-3-1, 19 KOs). Lara dropped and stopped Wood in the seventh round of their first fight February 18 at Nottingham Arena, but Wood returned three months later, outboxed Lara throughout their 12-round rematch May 27 and won a unanimous decision at AO Arena in Manchester, England.

The 32-year-old Warrington (31-2-1, 8 KOs) will fight for the first time in 10 months. He most recently lost a 12-round majority decision to Mexico’s Luis Albert Lopez (29-2, 16 KOs) in their December 10 fight for Warrington’s IBF featherweight title at First Direct Arena in Leeds.

Wood is listed by most sportsbooks as more than a 2-1 favorite to beat Warrington, who will attempt to become a three-time 126-pound champion.

The official weights for three of the undercard bouts DAZN will stream Saturday are listed below.
