On Wednesday, WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk was made aware that the upcoming WBA 200-pound title fight between Denis Lebedev and Pawel Kolodziej  which takes place on the same September 27th card as his much anticipated title defense against Grigory Drozd, will see both fighters undergo stringent anti-doping tests by RUSADA.

The 32-year old Polish-born champion, who makes his seventh title defense when he meets Drozd, had a message he was keen to pass on.

"I want to have RUSADA doping tests, before and after the fight," Wlodarczyk said through his manager Andrew Wasilewski. "Today I heard that these kind of tests will be [included in the fight between] my friend Kolodziej [and] Lebedev, [which is] on the same show."

Wlodarczyk's message was clear.

"Boxing must be clean," he said. "milions of Russian, Polish and fans from other countries want to see great fight, two real warriors who are clean, that's why I ask the Russian promoter, have me and Drozd (take the) anti-doping tests before and after the fight.

"Then we are positive the fight is honest. It is very important in the sport. If the promoter want to do it in the Kolodziej-Lebedev fight, let us have it in our fight too. It's a great idea."
