Later today, Garrett "Ultimate Warrior" Wilson  (13-5-1) will meet current EBU Crusierweight champion Alexander Alekseev (23-2-1) in Romania.  After a career filled with ups & downs the "Ultimate Warrior" finally has the prize that has eluded him in his sights. The winner of the fight will position themselves in the IBF rankings for a  mandatory shot at current head honcho Yoan Pablo Hernandez.  The "Ultimate Warrior" discussed several topics with me regarding the upcoming fight.

On travelling to Romania to fight Alekseev:

"Actually I have no problem going into this fight.  I have been going into other guys territories and other guys hometowns since I started boxing.  The only difference between that and me going overseas is everybody is going to be speaking a different language.  I have always been eager to best people in their hometown.  To beat them in their own turf."

On whether he will be chasing the KO:

"Throughout my career I have had KO's from the 2nd round all the way to the final round, so that's always a possibility.  I plan on showing my boxing ability and being able to outbox him as well as punch.  Everybody already expects me to punch and knock people out but I want to show off my boxing ability to everyone that will be watching on Eurosport."

A message to his supporters:

"For the people that have been there with me since I started, seeing my rough beginning coming from basically nothing.  I thank you all for staying with me and continuing to be a fan of the Ultimate Warrior.  Keep your eyes peeled because boxing will hit a new level when the Ultimate Warrior is on your television."
