Eddie Gonzales, manager of Wilkins Santiago (11-0-1), has advised BoxingScene.com that his fighter will face once beaten Michael Finney (12-1) on October 25th in the televised co-featured bout. Jose Ramirez faces David Rodela in the UniMas Solo Boxeo main event. The fight card takes place in Ramirez's hometown of Fresno, Calif.

Gonzales said that his fighter is ready to make the most of his opportunity and has been training in world class trainer Virgil Hunter's gym alongside Andre Ward, Amir Khan and other top fighters.

"Wilkins has been waiting for this type of opportunity. He was a highly decorated amateur and it will show on Saturday night," said Gonzales.

Finney is looking to bounce back from his first career loss which occurred in his most recent fight against Jaime Herrera who also upset Mike Jones in his most recent fight.

Santiago plans on extending Finney's losing streak and said that he plans on impressing the Top Rank brass who are promoting the show and promote Finney.

"I am very excited about this opportunity. I have been training for 8 months, sparring guys like Andre Berto, Karim Mayfield, Stan "The Man" (Martyniouk). I'm thankful that Bob Arum gave me this opportunity and after the fight hopefully we can do more business together," said Santiago.

The 34-year-old Santiago finished our conversation by saying that he plans on putting on a show for all the fans in attendance and tuning in on TV.

"I want to thank my trainer Eddie Croft, Virgil Hunter, (his manager) Eddie Gonzalez. To all the Puerto Ricans out there I plan on having a great performance. There aren't a lot of Puerto Ricans in the division right now or out here in California but take a look at me. I also gotta send a shot out to my hometown Cleveland," Santiago told BoxingScene.com.
