28-FIGHT KO STREAK FROM START OF CAREER IS LONGER THAN VITALI KLITSCHKO (27), JOHN L. SULLIVAN (25), ALEX STEWART (24), MAC FOSTER (24), HERBIE HIDE (22), FRANK BRUNO (21) AND MIKE TYSON (19). STREAK TOPS THE BEST OVERALL RUNS OF FOREMAN (24), MARICANO (16), NORTON (14) AND LISTON (11).

IN FIVE COMPUBOX-TRACKED FIGHTS, HE HAS LANDED ONLY TWO BODY SHOTS (BOTH IN KELVIN PRICE BOUT) AND 67% OF TOTAL PUNCHES WERE JABS

12/15/12 KO 3 KELVIN PRICE -- Faced with a 6-7 opponent with whom he could see eye-to-eye, Wilder nevertheless followed the "more is less" approach by keeping his work rate down (31.6 punches per round) but made the most of his power shots, landing 70% of them (16 of 23), including the final punch, an overhand right that dropped Price (13-0) and prompted referee Ray Corona to wave off the fight. Wilder out-landed Price 28-20 (total) and 12-1 (jabs) but Price prevailed 19-16 in power connects, landing 46% of his hardest shots.

9/8/12 KO 2 DAMON McCREARY -- McCreary was Wilder's first undefeated and untied opponent (14-0), but at 5-11 he was eight inches shorter and at 262 1/4 the former super middleweight was obese. The fight itself was farcical. Referee Raul Caiz Sr. mistakenly called a push-down a knockdown in round one, McCreary voluntarily fell to the ground later in the round claiming a hurt knee and moments after McCreary landed his only serious punch Wilder ended it with a rabbit punch and a right uppercut to the jaw as McCreary was falling.

Wilder was 10 of 44 overall (23%) to McCreary's 4 of 19 (21%), 5 of 22 (23%) in jabs to 1 of 8 (12%) and 5 of 22 (23%) power to 3 of 11 (27%).

8/4/12 KO 1 KERTSON MANSWELL -- Wilder's most impressive offensive display to date. A chopping right followed by two hooks produced the first knockdown, a right cross-left hook the second and a four-punch volley started by a right and ending with a jab ended the bout at the 2:10 mark. Wilder worked the jab very well to start (7 of 19, 37%) and his power shots were accurate (5 of 9, 55%). Manswell did land all three power shots, all to the body and was 4 of 6 (67%) overall. His good stats, however, were meaningless.

6/23/12 KO 4 OWEN BECK -- Scores four knockdowns in three rounds (right to temple, turn away and kneel in round one, shotgun jab in round two and in round three a right cross for knockdown number one, a cuffing hook for knockdown number two. Beck retired in the corner due to an injury to his left eye.

Wilder averaged 36 jabs per round (the heavyweight norm is 19.7) and out-landed Beck 28-16 in that department. He also was 14 of 42 (33%) in power shots to Beck's 3 of 15 (20%) and was 42 of 150 (28%) overall to 19 of 93 (20%) for Beck.

5/26/12 KO 1 JESSE OLTMANNS -- A Carnera-like spectacle. Although the official time was 25 seconds, the fight actually lasted 11 as a right to the side of the head caused Oltmanns to fall to all-fours, a sight that persuaded referee Manolo Alcocer to immediately wave off the fight. Wilder was 2 of 6 overall (33%), 1 of 3 in both categories, while Oltmanns was 0 of 2, both jabs.

3/24/12 KO by 9 BRYANT JENNINGS -- Bludgeoned by Jennings, who landed 48% of his total punches, 31% of his jabs and 58% of his power shots and out-landed Liakhovich 253-124 (total), 60-41 (jabs) and 193-83 (power). Landed 28% overall and 36% power against "Bye-Bye" (12-0) but suffered terribly for the privilege. Retired in the corner between rounds nine and 10.

8/27/11  KO by 9  ROBERT HELENIUS -- Fought with a broken nose (in two places) that occurred as early as the second round.  Landed 170 of 466 total punches (36%-21 landed/58 thrown per round) to 140 of 527 (27%) for Helenius, who landed the harder punches.  Liakhovich landed 113 of 258 power shots (44%) to 65 of 187 (35%) for Helenius, who dropped Liakhovich in round eight.  Scoring thru 8: 77-74 H; 76-75 H; 76-75 L.

5/22/10 KO 9 EVANS QUINN -- Liakhovich dealt with Quinn's early hand speed and decent movement these challenges calmly and at times he paid a price. By the third round his nose and mouth were bloodied and a lump developed under his right eye soon after. But as soon as Quinn's movement slowed and his hands began lowering, Liakhovich was able to catch up with understated but constant forward pressure and accurate power shots to the head and body. With a minute left in the seventh Liakhovich scored a "but for the ropes" knockdown with a right that wrenched Quinn's neck and a lead right to the jaw left Quinn sitting on the floor, draped on the bottom rope. Quinn (18-3-1, 0-1-1 inl last two) managed to rise by 9 1/2, but the referee waved off the fight anyway.

The stats were largely in favor of Liakhovich, who led 127-106 in total connects despite throwing 173 fewer punches (341-513). He landed 37% of his overall punches to Quinn's 21% and 47% of his power shots to Quinn's 25%. The only category Quinn led was landed jabs (35-28) but Liakhovich's was more accurate (22%-15%). Averaged just 37.9 punches per round to Quinn's 57.

2/16/08  L 12  NICOLAI VALUEV -- Couldn’t get past the jab of the 7’2” Valuev, who landed an avg. of 16 of 55 jabs per round.  The heavyweight avg. for jabs is 6 landed/20 thrown.   Liakhovich landed 135 of 397 total punches (34%-11 landed/33 thrown per round) to 289 of 849 (34%) for Valuev. Liakhovich landed 55% of his power shots- just not enough of them (55 of 103).  Valuev landed 95 of 191 power shots. Scoring: 120-107 V; 120-108 V 2x.

11/4/06  KO by 12  SHANNON BRIGGS -- Lost WBO heavyweight title with one second left in the fight.  Liakhovich led 106-103; 106-103 & 105-104 on the scorecards. He was down twice in round twelve, the second knockdown sent him thru the ropes. Had he survived the last round on his feet and the judges scored the round 10-7, he would have retained his title via majority draw.

4/1/06  W 12  LAMON BREWSTER -- Won WBO  heavyweight title. Dominated the defensively challenged Brewster, landing 341 of 678 total punches (50%-28 landed/57 thrown per round) to 238 of 656 (36%) for Brewster, who suffered a detached retina early in the fight. Liakhovich, who was down in round seven, landed an avg. of 12 of 31 jabs per round and also landed 197 of  312 (63%) power shots.  Scoring: 115-113 L; 115-112 L; 117-110 L.)
