Anthony Fowler will be back in action next month.

The 27-year-old has a record of 6-0 with five early and has been out of the ring since April.

Fowler knocked out Ryan Toms inside the second of eight scheduled rounds in his last outing at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool.

But he will return on July 28 at the O2 Arena in London, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, after his promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that he would form part of the supporting cast to Dillian Whyte’s must-win heavyweight showdown against Joseph Parker, which has been applied for as an official final eliminator to Anthony Joshua’s WBO strap.

The Dave Coldwell-trained fighter told Boxing Scene before his last fight that he would like a title fight at the back end of this year and it appears that this upcoming fight on Hearn’s stacked summer card could be the start of the journey to having silverware at stake in future outings.

Meanwhile, Frank Buglioni will return in an eight-round contest on the bill. The Enfield ‘Wise Guy’ has not boxed since being drilled inside a round in a British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight title fight against Callum Johnson at the same venue back in March.

Katie Taylor will defend her IBF and WBA female world lightweight titles against Kimberly Connor, while there will be a title on the line between Conor Benn and Cedric Peynaud as they meet again in a return of a 2017 Fight of the Year candidate, Joshua Buatsi will take on former British title challenger Ricky Summers and Kell Brook faces Brandon Cook in a world title eliminator, while there will be action for Kazakh Olympic champion Daniyar Yeleussinov and Dereck Chisora faces former Joshua victim Carlos Takam.
