British heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte (19-1, 15KOs) is still backing Malik Scott to pull off a potential shocker this weekend, when he faces the very dangerous Luis Ortiz on November 12 from Monte Carlo.

Ortiz (25-0, 22 KOs) vs. Scott (38-2-1, 13 KOs) takes place at Salle des Etoiles, Sporting Monte-Carlo. HBO will televise it live in the United States as the headliner of an HBO Boxing After Dark beginning at 4:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Same day replay at 11:05 p.m. (ET/PT). The fight will carried live in the UK on Sky Sports.

The fight will be the first ring outing for Ortiz under his new promotional deal with Matchroom Sport - who also promote Whyte.

Scott and Whyte are close friends. Whyte, who may be building up a future fight for himself, believes Ortiz is more hype than substance. He has no fear of getting in the ring with the fearsome boxer known as 'King Kong'.

"It's one of them fights where it says a lot about both men," Whyte told Sky Sports. "How good is Malik Scott and how good is Ortiz? Malik is a very good boxer, but the problem is - he lacks a bit of power, and Ortiz seems to carry a bit of power.

"Whether Malik can out-box him for 12 rounds, or hurt him enough to keep him off, or whether Ortiz can close him down, land enough punches. But I give Malik the edge in out-boxing him, because Luis Ortiz has never fought anyone that is as mobile and as good as what Malik is."

Whyte does not expect Scott to fall apart under the pressure of the big moment, as a lot of eyes will be on Ortiz's performance that night.

"He's nuts, but he's fun nuts though, not like crazy nuts," said Whyte. "He's one of those guys that you don't know what he's going to do. This is a man who has been in camp since he was 15-years-old and has boxed numerous rounds with numerous world champions. He's been boxing for so long that boxing is second nature to him. He gets in there and moves around like a Bentley. Hopefully he will win on points."
