MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Ricardo Mayorga (29-7, 23KOs) was the first to get on the scale and he appeared to be in the best shape of his career. He weighed 154-pounds on the limit. WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28KOs) was up next, and he also weighed 154-pounds. There was no face-off.

In a fight scheduled for four rounds, Tommy Z (1-0, 1KOs) came in at a very ready 193-pounds. The opponent, possible grasped at the last minute, was Richard Bryant (1-2, 1KOs), who came in at 225-pounds.

In a junior welterweight contest, scheduled for ten rounds, Pawel Wolak was (28-1, 18KOs) was the first to weigh in, coming in at 154-pounds on the limit. Former WBA champion Yuri Foreman (28-1, 8KOs) was very trim at 155-pounds. Foreman was a pound over the limit, with no secondary weigh-in being announced, which indicates the fight contract allowed a pound over the limit.
