Juan Manuel Marquez and Mike Alvarado both made weight for their scheduled 12-round welterweight title eliminator, which takes place Saturday evening at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

The fight was set at a maximum contracted weight of 143 lb. Marquez (55-7-1, 40KO) came in at a ripped and ready 141.6 lb; Alvarado (34-2, 23KO) weighed a healthy 143.2 lb. Despite weighing just over the limit, Marquez didn't force his opponent to sweat off two ounces, or even ask for additional money to proceed with the fight.

Both fighters are coming off of a loss in bouts which took place one week apart. Marquez dropped a decision to Timothy Bradley Jr. (who was on hand to co-host the weigh-in for the live stream) last October, coming just short of becoming the first fighter in Mexico's rich boxing history to win major titles in five weight classes.

One week later, Alvarado suffered his second loss within a span of 53 weeks, as he was stopped after ten rounds of grueling warfare with Ruslan Provodnikov.

The winner of Saturday's bout will become the mandatory challenger to reigning welterweight titlist and international superstar Manny Pacquiao.

The bout will air live on HBO (Saturday, 10:15PM ET/7:15PM PT and local time).

The televised opener pits unbeaten Viktor Postol (25-0, 10KO) and Selcuk Aydin (26-2, 19KO) in a scheduled 12-round super lightweight title eliminator. The winner will become the mandatory challenger to World lineal super lightweight king Danny 'Swift' Garcia.
